What is Marxism
Marxism is a political and economic theory developed by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels in the mid-19th century. It originally consisted of three related ideas: a philosophical anthropology, a theory of history, and an economic and political program. Marxism is a left-wing to far-left method of socioeconomic analysis that uses a materialist interpretation of historical development, better known as historical materialism, to understand class relations, social conflict and a dialectical perspective to view social transformation. It seeks to identify the flaws inherent in capitalism and proposes an alternative system. The basic ideas are that the world is split into multiple classes of people. The two main classes are the working class and the ruling class. The working class is exploited by the ruling class.
